About
I'm an applied medical/nutritional anthropologist, doing research from a political ecological and interpretive paradigms.
I've recently worked with rural southern Illinois health and healthcare needs assessment for quality improvement, electronic medical records/QI, plus broader medical ethics, national, state & local policy and law concerning this area.
Earlier, I studied exercise work and stress physiology which led to doing some of the first baseline child and family health, nutrition, work and resource use studies for a conservation-development project in Madagascar. This resulted in a longtime continued interest in the history, planning and operations of conservation-development programs in Madagascar. This issue entails a detailed examination of people, resource and power relations through time at local sites in Madagascar, across Madagascar and globally.
